How to Volunteer |
The most important word in the name of our organization is VOLUNTEER. It's the most important word because everyone is a volunteer- firefighters, engineers, the fire chief, the assistant fire chief, and the board of directors. Without volunteers there would not be a Castroville Volunteer Fire Company, cats would stay stuck in trees, people would be stuck atop their cars in rising waters, and houses would burn down. Oh yea, your property owners insurance premiums would be much higher too. You can join us and help our community in one of many ways. You can be a firefighter and learn the finer points of fighting fires, handling high pressure water, and riding on cool trucks. You can help the board of directors keep the finances of the fire company in order. There are two programs for young people to get involved and learn about the profession of firefighting - Junior Firefighters and the Young Explorer programs. Finally, the Castroville Volunteer Fire Company does not solicit donations, but donations are gratefully accepted. The operations of the fire company are funded, in large part, through the Medina County Emergency Services District No. 1. If you want to learn more about how you can help your community through volunteering with the Castroville Volunteer Fire Company or if you just want to see what is going on or if you want to donate, please come by any Tuesday evening or contact us at (830) 931-0300.
